Vodafone Fiji Bati fullback Sunia Turuva scored a hat-trick for his Wests Tigers side as they defeated the Newcastle Knights 42-22 in the NRL last night.

The Wests Tigers enjoyed repeated success down their right edge as they took advantage of the absence of Knights centre Bradman Best.

The Tigers now sit in second place on the points table and have won three in a row for the first time since early 2018.

Other tries for the Tigers came from Apisai Koroisau, Patrick Herbert, Jahream Bula, and Terrell May.

Meanwhile, the Parramatta Eels suffered a heavy 52-10 loss to the Titans.

Jayden Campbell, Phillip Sami, and Sialetili Faeamani each scored two tries, while Arama Hau, AJ Brimson, and Cooper Bai scored a try each.

This week’s matches will see the Cowboys face the Sea Eagles at 9.50pm Thursday. The Raiders meet the Storm at 8pm Friday, the Dolphins take on the Panthers at 10pm, the Warriors host the Titans at 5pm Saturday, the Rabbitohs meet the Dragons at 7.30pm, and the Wests Tigers face the Broncos at 9.35pm.
