The debut performance by Tilak High School of Lautoka will be remembered after their 2-1 win against Vunimono High School in the Fiji FA Secondary Schools National U19 Futsal title.
Tilak High School found inspiration in their captain, Harsh Naidu, who scored the winning goal with just five minutes left on the clock.
Naidu was awarded the Golden Ball and Golden Boot, finishing as the competition’s top scorer with seven goals.
Naidu has acknowledged the coaching staff, school administration, parents, and teammates for their support.
Football Manager of the school, Mohammed Shaheez Khan, says the team's success was built on discipline and teamwork.
Khan says the team was also awarded the Fair Play Award, completing the entire tournament without receiving a single card.
Khan adds that the players were taught to be humble, as their opponents travelled from far to participate.
