As Fiji celebrates Mother’s Day today, 83-year-old Kanta Wati from Labasa says those who still have their mothers are truly blessed and should cherish every moment with them.

Wati spent the day surrounded by love, as her daughter and other family members took her out for a special Mother’s Day celebration.

Speaking to fijivillage News, Wati says she is very happy as she has been receiving calls from early this morning, with family members near and far wishing her a Happy Mother’s Day.

She says six of her children are in Fiji, while two live in New Zealand, and nothing makes her happier than seeing all of them doing well in life.

Wati also shared an emotional message, saying parents spend their lives raising their children with love, sacrifice and hope.
