Minister for Policing, Ioane Naivalurua says those responsible for the death of 24-year-old police officer Peniasi Racagi will be identified and dealt with accordingly following a thorough investigation.

Naivalurua says the public should allow the Fiji Police Force to carry out its investigation and determine the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death.

He is urging the public to avoid speculating about Racagi’s death, as many allegations are being shared on social media.

The Minister also states that people should respect the fact that a life has been lost and show respect to Racagi’s family and the organisation he belonged to.

fijivillage News has been told that the screenshot of a Viber message being shared on social media is not true, and that the claim that his partner is missing is also false.

The officer was found dead in Lami yesterday morning.

Police are yet to release more details as people continue to raise concerns that the officer was allegedly murdered.
