The Fijian Drua players are at their fittest compared to last 5 seasons

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua are in their best physical condition in the past five years, with players eagerly anticipating this week’s season opener in the Battle of the Pacific.

This was revealed by Swire Shipping Fijiana Drua head coach Glen Jackson during the team’s first press conference of the season in Nadi.

Jackson says while the squad’s fitness levels are high, maintaining balance within the team will be crucial, with player rotation key to preventing burnout over the course of the season.

He adds that not every player will feature in every match, making squad management essential.

Jackson notes that Moana Pasifika will bring a big and physical forward pack, but says his players are prepared for the challenge.

He also stresses the importance of starting strongly this week, as it will set the tone for the full eighty minutes.

The Drua face Moana Pasifika this Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka, with kickoff scheduled for 3.30pm.
