The traditional bond between Tailevu and Kadavu was celebrated through rugby as Tailevu supporters presented the “Na i Vakamamaca” to their Kadavu counterparts, on a day Tailevu maintained their unbeaten run in the Skipper Cup with a 30-10 victory at the Nakelo District Grounds.Fresh Choice Tailevu defeated Kadavu 30-10 at the Burebasaga grounds in Round 7 of the Skipper Cup.Tailevu Rugby says its supporters also proudly presented the “Na i Vakamamaca” to their Naita from Kadavu Rugby, reflecting the respect, unity and strong relationship between the two Timi ni Vanua Vakaturaga.Tailevu Men’s Senior Team captain Ro Emori Imanueli Logavatu says the occasion highlights that rugby is about more than what happens on the field, as it also brings together the vanua, communities and supporters.Meanwhile, Tailevu Team Manager Pita Naidrolevu says while they are pleased with the victory over Kadavu, the team will head back to the drawing board to work on areas that need improvement as they continue their Skipper Cup campaign.Naidrolevu has also thanked the team’s sponsors and the Vanua for their immense support, which he says continues to drive the team forward.Meanwhile, Tailevu is currently ranked second on the Skipper Cup standings after seven rounds of the competition while Nadi is leading with 30 points.
