Tabau further remanded for alleged attempted murder of police officer
40-year-old Domoniko Tabau, who is charged with attempted murder in relation to the incident that occurred at the Laqere checkpoint last month, has been further remanded in custody.

Defence lawyer Gavin O' Driscoll informed High Court Judge Justice Dane Tuiqereqere that his client does not want bail for now.

State lawyer Simione Seruvatu says they need more time to serve information and disclosures.

The matter has been adjourned to the 22nd of May to check on disclosures. 

Tabau is charged with one count each of attempted murder, serious assault, and going equipped for theft or a property offence.

Police had said Tabau is one of the three men who were in a vehicle that drove directly into a roadblock manned by a female police officer in Laqere.

Tabau was discharged from the CWM Hospital on the 1st of May 1st.

The victim is the daughter of Minister for Defence, Pio Tikoduadua.
