Suva carries proud Fiji FACT record into tournament

Global Care Suva FC will enter the 2026 BiC Fiji FACT in Labasa as one of the tournament’s most successful teams, having won four titles and reached nine finals since the competition began in 1991.

Fiji FA says the capital city side sits fourth on the Fiji FACT honours list, reflecting its consistency and ability to compete at the highest level of Fijian football across generations.

Suva won its first Fiji FACT title in 1995 with a 4-0 victory over Labasa, ended a 17-year title drought by defeating Ba 1-0 in the 2012 final, edged Nadi 1-0 to win the 2020 title in Labasa, and claimed its fourth crown in 2022 with a 2-0 win over Labasa at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

While the district has enjoyed memorable triumphs, it has also suffered heartbreak on the biggest stage, finishing runners-up five times.

Suva lost the 1994 final to Tavua, went down 2-0 to Ba in 2004, and fell short against Nadi in the 2014, 2016 and 2019 finals.

Three of those runner-up finishes came against Nadi, creating one of the tournament's most notable rivalries.

Despite those setbacks, Suva has consistently remained a title contender and is regarded as one of the most successful and professionally managed districts in Fiji football.

As the 2026 BiC Fiji FACT approaches, the Whites will be aiming to claim a fifth title and further cement their status as one of Fiji football's giants.

Meanwhile, the Bic Fiji Fact will kick from the 19th to 21st of this month.
