Suspect in Sawani burglary case in remand for separate alleged assault

The suspect involved in a burglary at a home in Sawani, Nausori, is currently in remand in relation to a separate alleged assault case.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Kasiano Vusonilawe says the suspect was arrested, charged and produced in court last Friday.

He says the report for the burglary which took place on the 12th of August was lodged on the 14th of August, whereby the suspect was being processed for the first case of assault.

ACP Vusonilawe says an application will be made in court for the suspect to be remanded in police custody to allow investigations into the burglary case.

Earlier, homeowner Sandeep Prakash has acknowleged police for their effort.
