State says audio recording can be dealt with during trial of former Acting Corrections Commissioner
Naucukidi in an earlier court appearance
The state prosecution has informed the Suva Magistrates Court that defence counsel's objection to the alleged audio recording between former suspended Acting Corrections Commissioner, Sevuloni Naucukidi and the alleged victim can be dealt with during the trial.

This is after Naucukidi's counsel, Barbara Malimali, stated last week that they would challenge the audio recording, saying that it is illegal to record someone without their consent.

Naucukidi is charged with one count of criminal intimidation for allegedly threatening a member of his support staff in July last year.

His case was called this morning before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne.

Naucukidi, who was not present, was represented by Samuela Savu in court this morning.

The case will be called again on Wednesday to finalise the agreed facts.
