Special amnesty period given for employers with unpaid FNPF contribution debts

Special amnesty period given for employers with unpaid FNPF contribution debts

A special amnesty period has been given for employers with unpaid Fiji National Provident Fund contribution debts.

This has been highlighted by the FNPF Management.

They say the amnesty will run from 15th May 2026 to 31st October 2026 and applies to historical unpaid contributions owed up to November 2024.

FNPF says during this period, all penalties and accrued fines on outstanding contributions will be fully waived, allowing employers to settle their arrears without additional financial burden.

According to FNPF Chief Executive Officer Viliame Vodonaivalu, the initiative is intended to promote fairness, responsibility, and the protection of members’ retirement savings.

He stated that the amnesty gives employers a final opportunity to resolve historical contribution issues and move forward in full compliance.

He also emphasized that unpaid contributions directly affect the retirement outcomes of Fijian workers because every unpaid dollar represents delayed retirement savings.

FNPF says the amnesty is part of its broader effort to improve contribution compliance, clear legacy balances, and encourage timely and accurate contribution payments.

They say employers are encouraged to engage with FNPF early during the amnesty period and work collaboratively to resolve outstanding debts.

FNPF also warns that employers who remain non-compliant after 31st October 2026 may face recovery and enforcement action under applicable laws.
