South Africa claim Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry trophy as All Blacks fall short in final Test

The Rugby's Greatest Rivalry tour has ended in heartbreak, with South Africa defeating the All Blacks 43-28 in a nail-biting fourth test.

The Springboks lead the All Blacks 17-14 at halftime in Baltimore.

They dominated for much of the first half, but the All Blacks struck back with four minutes left when Will Jordan surged over for a try, to go with one from Codie Taylor early in the game.

There was a lengthy delay midway through the first half, when referee Karl Dickson lost communication with the Television Match Official.

Play resumed after the two captains agreed that there would not be TMO involvement unless there was foul play, in which case a phone call would be made.

British Open golf winner Ryan Fox carred the New Zealand flag, standing next to the All Blacks at the pre-match anthem.

The All Blacks won the first Test 33-16, with the Springboks taking the next three games 33-26, 29-24 and now 43-28.
