Social Protection Ministry to develop men's helpline to address growing social challenges
To support men, the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection is working on a men's helpline as part of efforts to address the growing challenges faced by boys and men in Fiji.

Speaking on the 2026/2027 National Budget, Minister Sashi Kiran says the initiative is important as more men are taking their own lives, and the challenges faced by boys often continue into adulthood.

She says $30,000 has been allocated in the budget to establish the men's helpline.

Meanwhile, $405,000 has been allocated for the rehabilitation of the Juvenile Centre as part of the ministry's new initiatives.

The debate on the National Budget will begin tomorrow.
