Shazran Lateef to stand trial in July for alleged meth and marijuana possession

The trial of former Suva lawyer, Shazran Abdul Lateef who was allegedly found with methamphetamine and marijuana in Rewa Street, Suva in 2021, will begin in July. 

Lateef was allegedly found with 1.8 grams of methamphetamine and 1 gram of marijuana on August 13th while he was in a pick up truck.

Police had stopped and searched his vehicle due to suspicion. 

Lateef has told Suva Magistrate Joseph Daurewa that he will be representing himself. 

The trial will begin on 1st July.
