Solicitor General Ropate Green

Solicitor General Ropate Green has refused to reveal the terms of the out of court settlement agreed to between the State and the Judicial Services Commission chaired by Chief Justice Salesi Temo after the JSC filed for leave to apply for a judicial review to quash the findings of the Commission of Inquiry into Barbara Malimali's appointment as FICAC Commissioner.

When asked by fijivillage News, Green says he will not comment as it is still a matter before the court.

Meanwhile, the matter was stood down in court for High Court Judge Justice Dane Tuiqereqere to read the terms of the settlement.

During this time, the counsel for COI Chair David Ashton-Lewis had asked for a copy of the agreement as his client may agree to it.

JSC counsel Isireli Fa refused this stating Ashton-Lewis is not a party in the settlement.

The matter will be called next Wednesday.
