Scam impersonating Booking.com referred to CID - FCCC
Following warnings issued regarding a scam using Booking.com, the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission says they have received a complaint which has been formally referred to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Fiji Police Force for their action.

The scam involves fraudsters pretending to recruit people to write paid reviews for Booking.com through platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger or email.

Scammers contact people and give small tasks, pay a little at first to build trust, then ask victims to deposit their own money to unlock higher commissions.

Once the money is sent, the scammers disappear and block them.

The FCCC says if an offer requires you to pay money to get a job, or if it promises profits that seem too good to be true, it is a scam.

They are urging people to be skeptical, vigilant, and always verify.Questions have been sent to police. They are yet to respond.
