On a break from international duties, Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s player Filipe Sauturaga is back representing his roots, turning out for Taveuni in the Skipper Cup competition.
Sauturaga, who is from Namosi and has maternal links to Waitabu in Taveuni, says he is grateful to the Union for opening the doors for him to be part of the Skipper Cup squad and represent his mother’s province.
He says they will host Suva this week and know the Capital side has been a strong contender in the competition, but they will have to put in the hard yards, just as they did against Lautoka.
He adds that they will give 100 percent this Saturday.
The national 7s representative says he is grateful for the opportunity to play alongside grassroots players.
Taveuni has recorded three wins, five losses and one draw this season, beating Lautoka, Ba and Nadroga.
Taveuni will host Suva at Wairiki School Grounds this Saturday.
