The Fiji Pearls have suffered a 56-50 defeat to Samoa this afternoon following a closely fought contest.
Fiji fought hard to mount a comeback and kept the pressure on until the final whistle, but Samoa maintained its composure to secure the six-goal victory.
Both teams produced a determined performance, with Fiji unable to close the gap in the final stages of the match.
The Pearls will look to bounce back tomorrow when they face Tonga at 3pm.
They will then take on Papua New Guinea on Friday.
