Mohamed Salah made an immediate impact on his return to the Liverpool squad, providing an assist as the Reds secured a 2–1 victory over Brighton at Anfield this morning.

The win lifted Arne Slot’s side to 6th place on the table and extended their unbeaten run to five matches, while also delivering their first home victory since early November.

All eyes were on Salah, who returned after being left out of Liverpool’s midweek Champions League win at Inter Milan following his explosive reaction in last weekend’s draw at Leeds United.

He came in the 26th minute after defender Joe Gomez was forced off with an injury, with Dominik Szoboszlai shifting to right-back.

Brighton responded well and created several chances, but failed to capitalise.

His assist took him to 277 goal involvements in 302 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, the most by any player for a single club in the competition.

Despite ongoing uncertainty over his future, Salah’s return helped Liverpool claim back-to-back wins and clean sheets in all competitions, while Brighton slip to 9th place.
