Young footballers will get a major boost this weekend as Roy Krishna and Extra Bula FC attend the McDonald’s League opening in Ba this Saturday.

Tournament Coordinator Annette Nainima says the presence of Bula FC players at the opening will be a major boost for the young footballers taking part in the competition.

Nainima says the presence of the players, especially national team captain Roy Krishna, will inspire future stars, adding it will give these young players a valuable opportunity to learn, stay motivated and dream big in football.

She adds that having role models like Roy Krishna at the event will make the opening even more special for participants.

The Fiji Football Association says the McDonald’s Talent Identification League is aimed at discovering and developing young football talent across the country, and believes the involvement of senior players will encourage the next generation to work harder towards their goals.

They say with excitement building ahead of the opening this weekend in Ba and Suva, young players can look forward to not only showcasing their skills but also meeting and learning from some of Fiji’s top football figures.

Meanwhile, U10, U12 and U14 teams will be participating in the league, which will begin at 9.30am at Academy grounds in Suva and Ba.
