Cristiano Ronaldo scored on his return to club football as Al-Nassr secured a 3-nil win over Diriyah, with fans showing their support for the 41-year-old following his recent fallout with Portugal.
Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute from a rebound, before Al-Nassr scored two more goals to seal the win.
Before the match, Al-Nassr fans unveiled a large banner reading, “Greatness is earned, CR7, all-time top scorer in football history”.
Ronaldo recently left the Portugal national team camp midway through the Nations League break after remaining an unused substitute against Norway.
He has confirmed he has not retired from international football.
The goal was Ronaldo's 980th in his career as he continues his push to become the first player to score 1,000 goals in official matches.
He has scored 146 goals in 234 appearances for Portugal, holding the world records for most goals and appearances in men's international football.
