Cristiano Ronaldo confirms that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the last of his career.

At 41, the Portugal captain is set to make history by featuring in a record sixth World Cup, having previously played in the 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022 tournaments.

Reflecting on the criticism he has faced throughout his career, Ronaldo says he remains grateful even for his critics, insisting that criticism helps a person grow.

He says winning the World Cup will not change who he is.

"I'm not going to be more, or less, Cristiano because I win the World Cup," Ronaldo says, adding that age has brought him maturity and experience.

As he prepares for one final opportunity to lift football's biggest trophy, Ronaldo says his legacy extends far beyond a single title.

Meanwhile, Portugal will face Spain in the Round of 16 at 7am.
