Republic of Fiji Military Forces
Members of the Republic of Fiji Military Force (RFMF) have been encouraged to stand up for the truth, even in difficult environments, especially during the Easter season.
Speaking at the Force Easter Church Service held at Tuvasu Hall at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua, Force Chaplain Major Reverend Taniela Tama referenced the Gospel of Matthew 27:54 in his sermon: “Now when the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus saw the earthquake and the events that had taken place, they were greatly afraid, saying, ‘Truly this was the Son of God.’”
Major Rev. Tama also acknowledged the RFMF for completing 21 days of prayer and fasting.

While delivering the leadership address, Commander Land Force, Brigadier General (Brig. Gen.) Onisivoro Covunisaqa, urged RFMF members to maintain discipline at all times, reminding them of their responsibilities as members of the Force.
Brig. Gen. Covunisaqa told members to remember they are bound by both Civil and Military Law.

He said that whether serving inside or outside the camp, especially for those deployed, they must uphold and protect the reputation and brand name of the RFMF.

He further encouraged members to take care of their families and remain vigilant in their duties during these challenging times, stressing concerns over the rise in drug use and HIV cases in Fiji.
He added that it is their duty to protect themselves and their families while also supporting the relevant authorities in fighting against these issues.
