The Republic of Fiji Military Forces will hold a church service this afternoon to commemorate the first batch of women who joined the force in 1988.

Of the 43 women who were part of that first intake, seven have passed away.

A wreath laying ceremony was held for the fallen soldiers at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua.

The RFMF has invited Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka to be the chief guest, as he was the Commander of the Military Forces in 1988.
