Repair and upgrade works rolled out across Lautoka enhancing public spaces

A major city-wide maintenance drive is currently underway in Lautoka, with multiple infrastructure repair and upgrade works being carried out simultaneously to improve safety, address leakages, and enhance public spaces.

The Lautoka City Council says its depot teams are actively working on chamber lid installations along Vitogo Parade near the Wharf Roundabout, while fencing installation and repair works are also being carried out in various locations to strengthen safety measures.

It further states that leakage control repairs are in progress at the Naviti Street Market canopy near the taxi base, as part of efforts to resolve ongoing water issues affecting vendors and commuters.

The Council adds that painting works are ongoing at IYC Park to improve its appearance, while waterproofing works at the Main Market roof are being carried out to prevent leaks and ensure the structure’s durability.

It also confirms that painting upgrades are underway at SCM Hall to enhance the facility’s condition.

The Lautoka City Council says these works reflect their continued commitment to maintaining essential infrastructure and ensuring the city remains clean, safe, and well-maintained for the public.
