The Canberra Raiders opened last night’s NRL action with a 26-22 victory over the Melbourne Storm in Canberra.

This marks five straight losses for the Storm, only the third time in their history, while the Green Machine are back on track with two wins in a row.

Hudson Young, Simi Sasagi and Ethan Sanders were immense for the Raiders, who had to withstand a late charge from the Storm to claim the two points.

Meanwhile, the Penrith Panthers bounced back from their first defeat of the season last week to win 23-22 in golden point.

The Dolphins fought back bravely from 18-0 down to send the game to golden point, but in the end it was the game’s best player, Nathan Cleary, who had the final say with an 85th-minute match-winner.

In today’s matches, the New Zealand Warriors will face the Gold Coast Titans at 5pm, the South Sydney Rabbitohs will take on the St. George Illawarra Dragons at 7.30pm, and the Wests Tigers will meet the Brisbane Broncos at 9.35pm.
