Portugal and DR Congo played out a 1-1 draw in their opening FIFA World Cup Group K match this morning.
Portugal got off to a flying start when Joao Neves scored in the 6th minute to give the European side an early lead.
However, DR Congo struck back just before halftime through Yoane Wissa, who found the back of the net in the fifth minute of first-half injury time to send the teams into the break locked at 1-all.
Portugal, captained by Cristiano Ronaldo, are playing in their 10th FIFA World Cup and are chasing their first World Cup title.
Ronaldo is making history as the first men's player to appear in six World Cups.
Meanwhile, DR Congo are making their first World Cup appearance in 52 years and only their second overall appearance at football's biggest tournament after competing as Zaire in 1974.
Portugal will next face Uzbekistan next Wednesday at 5pm before facing Colombia next Sunday at 11.30am.
Dr Congo will face Colombia next Wednesday at 2pm, before faciing Uzbekistan next Sunday at 11.30am.
Meanwhile in other matches today, England faces Croatia in the next hour, Ghana faces Panama at 11am while Uzbekistan takes on Colombia at 2pm.
