Police are yet to confirm the circumstances surrounding the death of 14-year-old Uwate Kini Soro from Tamavua-i-Wai, whose decapitated body was found on Tuesday.

Soro had been missing from home since Christmas Eve, and his body was found a few metres away from his home.

Police have not yet determined the cause of death.

As investigations continue, police say investigators are not going to speculate on the circumstances surrounding Soro's death.

They say investigators continue to gather statements and conduct their enquiries.
