Police officer among 10 arrested for drink-driving along Nadi-Namaka corridor

A police officer is among 10 drivers arrested for drunk-driving during the Random Breath Test (RBT) operations along the Nadi–Namaka corridor last night.

Police confirm that 351 drivers were tested in the area, resulting in nine arrests.

13 other drivers were tested and released after their final results fell below the prescribed alcohol limit.

In Suva, 450 drivers were screened during parallel operations, where one person was arrested for drink-driving.

Three additional drivers were cleared after returning results below the legal limit.

The Fiji Police Force says RBT operations will continue as part of efforts to curb impaired driving and improve road safety ahead of the festive season.
