Police investigating thefts reported across Bau Island, Vatulasawa, and Namuka

Several thefts were reported across Bau Island tueday morning, affecting boat owners and villagers.

According to villagers, a boat and engine were stolen from Vatulasawa, while a fuel tank went missing from Namuka.

Two more fuel tanks were also taken from Lasakau.

The thefts were first noticed by a boat owner who was preparing to take villagers to the landing.

It was soon discovered that other boat owners were experiencing similar issues, suggesting the thefts were connected.

Police have confirmed that a team from Nausori is investigating the incidents and was at the scene on tuesday.
