Some police officers and a military officer allegedly involved in an incident that left a man injured in Dakuni Village, Beqa, following a drug raid are currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Department.
Police confirm that investigations are underway.
The victim’s wife and family are calling for answers, accountability, and justice, alleging unnecessary and excessive use of force during the police operation.
She says that on 27th March, police conducted a raid in Dakuni Village, during which her husband was allegedly assaulted by about seven to eight officers, including a member of the military.
She also claimed the officers discovered two small marijuana plants during the raid.
While she says she respects the law enforcement’s responsibility to investigate offences and make arrests when necessary, she believes no one should be subjected to excessive force or violence.
Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
