Police confirm to family that Kinoya man was under the influence of a substance during his arrest

Police have confirmed to the family of Sakiasi Ose Radravu, who died days after being arrested, that he was under the influence of a substance when he was arrested in Kinoya, claiming his behaviour at the time of the arrest was marked by distress, including screaming as officers took him into custody.

The family confirmed this to fijivillage News, but for Radravu's family, those words have done little to ease the shock of what came next.

When fijivillage News enquired about the results of the post-mortem, they said they did not want to disclose the information.

The family member says the transformation from arrest to death was too sudden, too unexplained, and too difficult to accept without a full account of the events during that period.

Police have yet to publicly release detailed findings on the cause of death, and the matter remains under investigation.
