Former Deputy Prime Minister and Member of Parliament Manoa Kamikamica will take his plea on the 12th of May in the matter where he is charged with perjury and giving false information to a public servant.
His counsel Wylie Clarke informed the court that Kamikamica in currently in Australia undergoing a medical procedure.
He also reminded the court that Kamikamica has been on crutches.
The prosecution did not object.
Clarke also informed the court that the High Court has held a hearing in their permanent stay application and a decision will be delivered next Friday.
It is alleged that between 1st December 2024 and 31st March 2025 in Suva, Kamikamica knowingly made a false statement under oath, claiming that he had nothing to do with the appointment of the FICAC Commissioner.
It is further alleged that Kamikamica provided the same false information to the Commissioner of Inquiry (COI).
