Person known as King Khan charged by Police

Person known as King Khan charged by Police

A person of interest with alleged links to the illicit drug trade in Fiji known as King Khan, has been charged by Police.

His charge relates to alleged unexplained wealth.

Details on the charge will be released soon.

Imran Khan was taken in for questioning by the joint police and military operations team on Monday.

He was earlier identified as one of the close accomplices of Jone Vakarisi, and the joint operations team was hunting for him for some time.

He was arrested in Nakasi.

The joint police and military operations team raided Khan's property yesterday.

They continue to hunt down the heads of the drug networks in the country.

There are also concerns about compromised police officers in the Force dealing with the drug dealers,
and questions are being asked about how the integrity is being maintained in the investigations.

We have raised this issue with Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu and Army Commander, Major General Jone Kalouniwai.

While responding to fijivillage News, Tudravu says those officers who have been implicated are on interdiction and awaiting court cases.

He says those serving if anyone is named or suspected to be compromised will also be investigated.

Tudravu says they are doing their normal routine taking people in for questioning in custody and there is no special treatment for anyone unless directed by the court or health requirements.

Meanwhile the female police officer who was hit by a car driven by drug and robbery suspects in Laqere on Sunday morning remains in critical condition.

Stay with us for developments.
