ODPP yet to receive file in Lateef case after meth and marijuana evidence goes missing

The Office of Director of Public Prosecutions is yet to receive the file where evidence in former Suva lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef's methamphetamine and marijuana case have not been found.

Police Prosecutor Gajendra Prasad asked the Suva Magistrates Court to vacate the trial yesterday while they await sanctioning from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

He had said that they had looked for the documentary and physical evidence on Tuesday but could not find it.

fijivillage News has questioned police regarding investigations on the missing evidence and what is being done to ensure that evidence does not go missing again. They are yet to respond.
