ODPP given one month as police continue investigation into alleged cocaine import case
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has sought one month time to allow the Police to complete their inquiries in the case where Shonal Sharma allegedly imported 640.139 grams of cocaine through DHL Express in October last year.

Magistrate Joseph Daurewa granted more time to ODPP.

It is alleged that on the 30th of October 2025, Sharma collected a package declared as a smoke machine from the DHL Services Office in Raiwaqa.

He was subsequently intercepted by police officers, and the package was found to contain a white substance, determined as cocaine.

Sharma's bail has been extended.

The matter has been adjourned to the 9th of June.
