Naucukidi's criminal intimidation trial to begin in April

The trial for suspended acting Commissioner of Corrections, Sevuloni Naucukidi's trial for allegedly threatening a member of his support staff will be on April 1st and 2nd this year.

Naucukidi is charged with one count of criminal intimidation.

It is alleged that he threatened a member of his support staff in July last year.

Meanwhile, his lawyer, Barbara Malimali has opposed the usage of an audio recording between Naucukidi and the alleged victim in the trial.

Malimali informed Suva Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne that they will challenge the audio recording, stating that it is illegal to record someone without their consent.

The hearing on whether recording can be used will be on March 2nd.
