The world of Narnia is set to return to the big screen after years without a new film.

The popular series, created by C. S. Lewis, follows the adventures of four siblings—Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter—who discover a magical land filled with talking animals and epic battles.

The first film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, was released in 2005 and became a global success, including among audiences in Fiji.

Two more films followed—The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader—however, the series later lost momentum at the box office.

Plans for a fourth film, based on The Silver Chair, were eventually shelved due to production delays and changes in studios.

In 2018, Netflix acquired the rights to the series and announced plans to develop new Narnia content.

The project gained momentum after award-winning director Greta Gerwig signed on to lead the new adaptation.

The first film will be based on The Magician’s Nephew, which explores the origins of Narnia.

The film is expected to have a special IMAX theatrical release in November 2026 before becoming available on Netflix in December.
