Residents in Namadi Heights have been without electricity, raising concerns about their safety and food items stored in freezers ahead of Diwali.
They say one side of Padamlala Road in Namadi Heights has been without power since 9.30pm last night.
The affected residents say they saw EFL workers attending to the issue; however, the workers later left, and electricity has yet to be restored.
They say they have also received no advice from Energy Fiji Limited on the cause of the outage or when power is expected to be restored.
Residents are particularly concerned about security at night due to the lack of electricity and lighting in the affected area.
They also fear losing food items, sweets and other preparations for Diwali that are currently stored in their freezers.
Residents are calling on EFL to urgently address the outage and provide an update on when electricity will be restored.
fijivillage News has sent questions to EFL.
