After 16 years without lifting the Fiji FACT trophy, Ba Football Association President Praneel Dayal believes the Men in Black are slowly rebuilding the identity that once made them giants of Fiji football.

Dayal, who took over as Ba FA President last year, says restoring pride and bringing life back into Ba football has been a major focus.

Known for its rich football history, Ba remains the most successful district in Fiji FACT history with eight titles, however, the Men in Black have not lifted the trophy since 2010.

Since taking over the role, Dayal has focused on strengthening the connection between the club and its supporters through fan engagement and active promotion of the team.

Despite attracting criticism from rival supporters and some within football circles because of his outspoken support and active social media presence, he has remained focused on the bigger picture.

He says people will always have opinions in football, but everything being done is for Ba football and its supporters.

Ba currently sits second on the Extra Premier League standings after 10 matches, just one point behind leaders Labasa, and has scored 34 goals.

The Men in Black will now look to end their 16-year Fiji FACT title drought when the BiC Fiji FACT 2026 kicks off in Labasa.

The official pool draws will be held this Saturday.

The 2026 BiC Fiji FACT pool matches will be held from 19th to 21st June at Subrail Park, while the semi-finals and final will be played the following weekend.
