Man involved in alleged Samabula sacrilege remanded back into custody

The man who was involved in the alleged sacrilege case at the Shiv Temple in Samabula has been remanded in custody.

Samuela Tawase has been given 14 days for mitigation by the Magistrates Court.

He is charged with one count of sacrilege, one count of throwing object, and one count of escaping from lawful custody.

He appeared before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad this morning.

Tawase will appear in court again on January 20 for sentencing hearing.
