Long distance runner Adi Liveta of Bua Central College turns long jump champion
Adi Liveta of Bua Central College delivered one of the more unexpected victories at the Coca-Cola Games in Suva, claiming gold in the Intermediate Girls Long Jump with a jump of 5.15 metres.

Hailing from Kubulau in Bua, with maternal links to Wainunu, Adi Liveta says the achievement came as a surprise, admitting she had not anticipated winning a gold medal.

Adi Liveta says she is a long-distance runner and has only recently tried long jump in school, and it worked out for her.

She says training camp posed several challenges, including strict dietary controls that often left her feeling hungry.

Despite the difficulties, Adi Liveta says she remained focused, drawing strength from her faith and the support of her family back home in Vanua Levu.
