The Aussies ran in 7 tries, while Fiji managed to get one back through veteran Reapi Ulunisau.
Australia led 24-0 at the break.
The Fijiana were outclassed, by the Aussies who seemed to be scoring at will.
The Richie Walker coached side will next play South Africa at 8 tonight.
They had won their first pool game against the USA 26-19.
The Women's cup quarter finals are at 12.49am tomorrow.
The cup semifinals are at 8pm tomorrow, while the Women's cup final kicks off at 1.46am Monday.
