South Africa fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic in their FIFA World Cup clash this morning.

The Czech Republic made the perfect start, taking the lead after just five minutes through Michal Sadilek.

South Africa struggled to create chances and did not register a shot on target until the 74th minute.

They were awarded a late penalty, with Teboho Mokoena converting from the spot in the 83rd minute to secure a valuable draw.

South Africa began their FIFA World Cup campaign with a 2-0 loss to Mexico, while the Czech Republic suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to South Korea in their opening Group A match.
