Extra Supermarket Labasa FC have booked their place in the 2026 FMF Inter-District Championship Super Premier Division semi-finals after beating Nasinu FC 2-1.
It was an exciting contest, with both teams showing attacking intent from the opening whistle and creating several chances in the first half.
Nasinu broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Emanuel Etim found the back of the net with a powerful shot from inside the penalty box.
Labasa responded quickly and found the equaliser in the 38th minute through Eparama Moraica.
Both teams went into the halftime break locked at one-all.
Labasa came out strongly in the second half and continued to apply pressure before Taniela Waqa scored the winning goal with a header.
Nasinu pushed for an equaliser, but Labasa's defence stood firm until the final whistle.
Labasa finish their Pool A campaign with six points and join defending champions Stratum/Lincoln Rewa FCÂ in the semi-finals.
Labasa coach Jerry Sam says he is very happy with his team's performance and praised the players for following the game plan and staying focused.
Sam says his message to the players was to remain calm and take their chances.
He says finishing is one area the team will work on before the semi-final, as Labasa created several opportunities but could not convert all of them.
Sam is also calling on Labasa fans to turn out in numbers and support the team in the FMF semi-final.
Meanwhile, Vantex Solutions Navua FC have also secured their place in the semi-finals after playing to a nil-all draw against Khelvin Realtors Lautoka FC.
The match between Dayals Steel Ba FC and Pacific Heavy Industries Nadi FC is currently underway, and Kells Investment/Global Care Suva FC will take on Rewa FC at 7.30pm.
The FMF IDC semi-finals will be played on Saturday, with the final scheduled for Sunday.Â
