Day 2 of the 4th Fiji Bitter Labasa 7s kicks off this hour at Subrail Park in Labasa, with a packed schedule of matches till 6pm.

Action continues across the Under 21, Men’s and Women’s divisions, as teams look to secure top spots in their pools before elimination rounds begin later today.

The Women’s competition is now fully underway, adding further momentum to the tournament, while the Under 21 Bowl quarterfinals will begin at 2.48pm.

The Men’s Shield quarterfinals kick off at 3.36pm, followed by elimination matches from 4.24pm to determine who progresses to the next stage.

Pegasus Brothers continue to shape up as one of the teams to watch in the men’s division, showing strong organisation, physicality and sharp execution in their early matches.

In Pool G, Pegasus Brothers produced one of the standout performances of the day, defeating Baravi Legion 19–5.

The Brothers applied consistent pressure and ran sharp attacking lines to outpace their opponents.

Organisers say the Labasa 7s remains a key event for grassroots rugby development in the Northern Division and continues to reinforce its anti-drugs message of keeping rugby clean.

They say day one of the tournament got off to a fast and physical start, with disciplined and hard-fought pool matches across the Men’s and Under 21 divisions.

In Men’s Pool H, Y-IS Kava Vacalea secured a crucial Round 2 win over Vuna Brothers, 12–0. Vacalea controlled the tempo with strong defence and clinical finishing.

Vanua Vou Stingray also delivered a strong performance in Pool H, shutting out St Peter Navakawau 12–0 with organised defence and sustained possession.

Organisers say day one wrapped up smoothly, with teams well prepared and delivering entertaining, high-tempo rugby for fans.

They add that the tournament continues today with more knockout action and growing community support, as the Labasa 7s cements its role as a pathway for emerging rugby talent in the North.
