Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Real Madrid thrashed Rayo Vallecano 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu to move level on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga.
Mbappe opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 14th minute before setting up Álvaro Carreras three minutes later for Real Madrid’s second.
Jude Bellingham added a third in the 35th minute as Real Madrid went into half-time with a 3-0 lead.
Rayo pulled one back through Sergio Camello early in the second half, but Mbappe sealed the victory with his second goal in stoppage time.
The result gives Real Madrid four wins from their opening five league matches, while Barcelona can restore a three-point lead if they beat Levante.
In tomorrow’s matches, Celta Vigo face Málaga at 12am Fiji time, Levante take on Barcelona at 2.15am, Getafe play Deportivo de La Coruña at 4.30am, while Real Sociedad face Atletico Madrid at 7am.
