Member of Parliament Sanjay Salend Kirpal and Anal Avinash Ram have pleaded not guilty to one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Their lawyer, Shivnay Nand informed Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne that they did not have the opportunity to reconcile as there is a cross-report.
Nand also informed the court that Kirpal has to travel to the United States next Friday to visit his father and will return on November 3rd.
Magistrate Somaratne asked Police Prosecutor Shailen Prasad to check the status of the cross-report.
It is alleged that both men assaulted Nikhil Raj on the 9th of this month in Samabula.
The matter has been adjourned to next Monday.
