18-year-old Fijian international midfielder Abdullah Khairati says signing his first professional contract with Extra Bula FC is a dream come true after years of hard work towards becoming a professional footballer.

Khairati, who was born in Vancouver, Canada, to a family of Fijian heritage, says he is grateful for the opportunity and is looking forward to making the most of it.

He says he has worked towards this moment for a long time and is thankful to the Almighty, his parents, coaches and everyone who has supported him throughout his journey.

Khairati says his parents have always believed in him, even during difficult times, and have reminded him to put God first, remain humble, patient, disciplined and grateful.

The midfielder, who has developed his football skills at Supra Academy since the age of 10, says he is determined to continue working hard and establish himself in the professional environment.

Describing himself as a hardworking, aggressive and tenacious midfielder, Khairati says he enjoys competing, winning back possession and helping his team control the game.

He says he is also looking forward to learning from experienced players in the Bula FC squad, including Fiji football star Roy Krishna and other Fiji internationals.

Khairati says playing alongside these established players will give him an opportunity to learn from their actions both on and off the pitch and gain as much knowledge as possible.

While he hopes to eventually play at the highest levels of European football, his immediate goals are to remain consistent, continue improving and score his first professional goal.

Khairati is also encouraging young Fijian footballers pursuing their dreams to believe in themselves, remain disciplined and never stop working towards their goals.

He says setbacks are part of the journey and young players must remain patient, continue improving, take every opportunity seriously and listen to their coaches.

Khairati says he is proud to join Bula FC and represent Fiji, adding that he is ready to give everything for the badge and contribute to the team in whatever way he can as he prepares for the 2027 OFC Professional League season.

Bula FC will begin their 2027 campaign in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, where they take on Tahiti United on the 22nd of January.
