The Judicial Review hearing where Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde has taken the Judicial Services Commission and the President to court over the suspension of his salary and benefits will take place on November 25th.
The hearing was expected to be held on 22nd September, however, Pryde, who is in New Zealand, through his counsel Shalvin Singh made an application in court to vacate the date.
Counsel from the Office of the Attorney General Apete Bauleka did not object.
Pryde is challenging the suspension of his salary and benefits, which was endorsed by the President on the advice of the Judicial Services Commission in July last year.
He claims the Commission failed to give him a hearing, that the suspension was inconsistent with the presumption of innocence, and that it did not properly assess complaints against him as required under the Constitution.
